Principal's column

Victoria.jpg

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of this land, the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people, who have walked and cared for this land for thousands of years. We extend our acknowledgment to their descendants who maintain their spiritual connection and traditions.
We thank them for sharing their cultures, spiritualities and ways of living with the land in this place we all now call home.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
May we continue to walk gently and respectfully together.

Welcome to our Week 7 newsletter – I am amazed at how quickly time has flown this term and towards the final few weeks of the year. There are a number of fabulous end of year celebrations on the calendar and we will be posting a regular up-date of events via Facebook and Instragram so that you are kept informed about what is happening for the remainder of the year.

2023

I am delighted to announce that I will return in Term 1 as Principal of our amazing school. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know our wonderful staff, students and families over this short time and I am working with our Leadership Team and staff to ensure that 2023 starts strongly and that we continue to focus on achieving the very best outcomes for our learners.

Sensational Science!

I had a special visit from class 2W recently, who have been learning how we use materials for different purposes by investigating properties of various liquids, solids and gases, such as sugar, oil, essence, coconut, choc chips etc.

They made predictions about adding these to water and followed these with written observations using scientific language, knowledge and understanding!

For their assessment they completed predictions and observations about assorted toppings they had added to ice-cream and then shared their findings with myself and Ms Marszalek.

Then …. they had the pleasure of devouring the experiments! Winning!

Day for Daniel

It was a delight to see so many families helping to raise awareness of child safety in our community. Thank you everyone.

Sometime during 2023 we will transition to this Education Queensland online portal for collecting permissions and other information. This will require parents to have a QParents account.

Invitations will be sent out via email soon. Contact our office to set up an account today if you have not already done so!
